I'm trying to eliminate having to chain up mic cables just to make it all the way to the vocal booth. I'm doing this primarily because the way the studio is laid out, the distance for a signal to travel down the mic cable will be cut in half if I can do this procedure (the 003 is closer to the booth).

I'm not even sure if you can do this in the Pro Tools software, but I'm asking this in the Logic forum because I plan to use Logic for this project. I have not tried to hook them up at the same time yet, and I'm wondering if this does work, is there a way in Logic to set one up as the master, and one as the slave, like you would with an extended audio interface? Also, say in the future, I wanted to record drums in my new studio and needed more than 8 mic inputs, then that would be another instance of being able to use these two devices together. Does anyone have experience enough with the interfaces to tell me the steps to make these two devices together? In other words, I want to mix, and control monitor volume and such at the control desk, and I want to use the rack to host my mic inputs for vocals and guitar. I would like to use both of these devices together, the 002 mixer at the control room desk, and the 003 rack in a corner of the room with cables leading to the vocal/guitar cab booth. Because I have the Core Audio files on my mac, I have seen how Logic instantly recognizes the 002, and the 003 from hooking them up at different times and experimenting. I have built a home studio, and my friend owns a 002 mixer, and I own a 003 Rack. I have been pleasantly surprised that, despite earlier predictions, I am able to use my aging Digi 002 and Mac Pro with the new 64-bit goodness and power of Pro. My drum tracks are ready to go, and now I will start guitars, bass, and vocals. I have updated my Blue Cat Audio plug-ins and a few others to their new 64-bit AAX versions, but I have quite a few more that still need to be updated. If anyone has any feedback or insight, please feel free.So I'm really excited about Logic! I have no real experience with it yet, other than editing some drum tracks (recorded in another studio and imported into Logic) for an upcoming project.

I began to check it out as a great option for community-based, after school projects that I do with teens.
